That’s why, in 2024, we proudly joined the Pledge 1% program – an initiative that encourages companies to contribute 1% of their profits, product, equity, or employee time to philanthropic efforts. By making this commitment, we are dedicated to investing in the well-being of our local communities and supporting organizations that make a real difference.
Supporting Local Organizations That Matter
This year, we’ve had the privilege of donating to five incredible charities, each of which plays a crucial role in supporting people, animals, and the environment in British Columbia. We had our amazing team of consultants and staff participate and choose which causes meant the most to them and their local community.
As a team, we put together this list and wanted to highlight these amazing organizations and the impact they’ve made on Vancouver Island. We’re so grateful for the local people behind these efforts, making sure help is always there for those who need it!
1. Our Place (Victoria, BC)
Our Place provides essential support to vulnerable individuals, including those experiencing homelessness, poverty, and addiction. Their programs offer food, shelter, job training, and community support, helping people rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. 🛌
2. Anawim House
Anawim House is a sanctuary for individuals overcoming addiction and homelessness. More than just a shelter, it offers a place of healing and transformation, where people can access counselling, mentorship, and skills training in a safe and supportive environment. The Anawim House is only a few blocks from our downtown location, so it is a very “close to home cause” that we are privileged to support. 🏠
3. ROAM (Reuniting Owners with Animals Missing) Pet Finding Service
Losing a pet can be heartbreaking, and ROAM is dedicated to reuniting lost animals with their families. Their passionate team of volunteers works tirelessly to locate and rescue missing pets, offering peace of mind to owners while ensuring the safety of beloved animals. A lot of our employees have a furry friend, and we are grateful for the team that helps lost pets in Victoria. 🐶
4. Habitat Environmental Trust
Environmental preservation is essential to the health of our communities, and Habitat Environmental Trust is committed to protecting local ecosystems, preserving biodiversity, and promoting sustainable practices. By supporting their work, we are helping to maintain the natural beauty and balance of our environment for future generations. 🌱
5. Seniors Serving Seniors BC
Seniors Serving Seniors BC is a nonprofit organization that enhances the well-being of older adults by providing programs and services that address social isolation, mobility challenges, and access to healthcare resources. Their work helps seniors stay connected, independent, and engaged in their communities. 🥌
Expanding Our Impact in 2025
While we are incredibly proud of the contributions we’ve made in 2024, our commitment to philanthropy doesn’t stop here. Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to expand our reach and support even more local and global causes. Some of our goals for the coming year include partnering with new nonprofit organizations that align with our mission and values.
